Luicidal Takes Sierra Vista by Storm - A Heavy Glow Concerts Home Run
(by Shay Smith)
Is it too early for a holiday gift? Thanks to the newly formed nonprofit Heavy Glow Concerts, the answer is a loud, unapologetic “HELL NO!” The organization—created to bring top-tier entertainment to Cochise County—wrapped up its first year with its strongest show yet. On December 6th, Venice, CA punk legends Luicidal (featuring original members of Suicidal Tendencies) tore through PC’s Lounge in Sierra Vista, AZ, delivering the kind of night that reminds you exactly why live music matters.
The evening’s lineup was stacked with talent from across Arizona and beyond: Something Outrageous (Phoenix), Insomniacs (Phoenix), Overthinking (Tucson), and local heavy hitters Vibora (Sierra Vista).
Overthinking kicked things off with a tight, energetic punk set that immediately grabbed the room’s attention. It was refreshing—almost surprising—to see such a young band embrace old-school punk with that much authenticity and confidence. They sounded like they’d been doing this far longer than their ages suggest.
Next up were Phoenix’s Insomniacs, a three-piece whose sound draws from Green Day, Nirvana, and The Refreshments. After hearing them live, those influences absolutely shine through. Their 2019 full-length Dartmouth clearly wasn’t a fluke—these guys know how to deliver a polished, punchy set without losing that raw edge.
Mid-set brought in the hometown heroes Vibora, and the crowd reaction proved why they’re local favorites. With multiple albums and an EP already under their belt, they powered through 15 solid tracks like it was nothing. They knew exactly how to work the crowd, crank up the energy, and keep the pit moving.
Phoenix’s Something Outrageous refused to let the momentum dip even for a second. From the moment they hit the stage, it was full throttle—crowd interaction, nonstop movement, running, jumping, and what felt like pure, unfiltered chaos (in the best way). For a three-piece, they packed a ridiculous amount of firepower and served as the perfect warm-up for the night’s headliners.
Then came Luicidal—and the room shifted instantly. Their Sierra Vista stop was day three of their “Skatin’ Thru the Desert 2025” mini-tour, and the band, featuring Suicidal Tendencies OGs Louichi Mayorga (bass), Rocky George (guitar), Mike Clark (guitar), R.J. Herrera (drums), along with Mando Ochoa (vocals) from Sick Sense, turned PC’s Lounge into a full-blown punk family reunion.
There were no barriers, no ego, no separation between crowd and band—just inches between legends and fans slamming, singing, sweating, and sharing a moment that felt bigger than a small-venue show has any right to feel. The love and respect in the room was undeniable. It was the kind of night that reminds you why live music is essential—an escape from the constant noise of the world, and proof that, for as wild as punk rock gets, it can be the thing that brings peace to the soul and brings people together.
This was easily the biggest show Sierra Vista has seen in years, and if Wayne Rudell and Heavy Glow Concerts have anything to say about it, it won’t be the last. They’re already gearing up for 2026, kicking off the year with another stacked show on January 19th at PC’s Lounge featuring Saturna (Barcelona, Spain), Phantom Hound (Oakland, CA), and more to be announced.
If this last show was any indication, grab your tickets early—you don’t want to miss what’s coming next.
